Introduction Essay

For the next 3-4 years after I complete my academic courses here at TSTC, I plan to continue my education at a university to accomplish my goal in earning my bachelors in criminal justice and teaching. Well…. since my husband is going to get stationed somewhere away from the valley, I’m not sure what is going to happen. I obviously will have to move, which will be extremely stressful because I will have to find a university that offers my major. I would love to work for U.S. Customs one day. I used to be interested in Border Patrol, until I had the opportunity to go on a ride along with an agent. It was an outside program called, Border Patrol Explorers, for the ages of 14-18, that I got trained for. It was very interesting, however like I mentioned before, I walked in the steps of an agent and found out that it really wasn’t something I wanted to do. Communication is extremely important not only in the profession I’m interested, however in any profession. As far as my profession, it is very significant because at the end of the day, reports have to be written as far as every scenario that has come across by that agent. These reports have to be written in a professional way to where it is specific and understandable. I am not much of a writer I guess because I could never think outside the box. I tried too hard to be creative that my writing became cheesy and not interesting. I believe and know that good writing consists of having good knowledge of vocabulary that is being used. After taking comp 1, I believe that I have improved in my writing skills however, not as much as I need and like to be. I’m hoping that by the end of this course I will have mastered the procedures to writing a professional paper that catches the reader’s attention.
